What Distinguishes Us

The Purple Cow* Story

Imagine you are on a driving vacation across the U.S. As you pass the first farm, you call out excitedly to your family, “Look out the window to the right! See the brown cows out there? Aren’t they great?” In a few minutes you call out again, “Look out the window to the left! Those brown cows are awesome!” But after you have seen brown cows on five or six farms, you don’t seem to notice them anymore. Now, what if the next farm you drove past had a purple cow in the field? Wouldn’t that be something interesting! You might even pull over to the side of the road to take a picture of that cow.

In a marketplace filled with “brown cow” hammers, Global Partners invites you to try an SWB hammer which, like the purple cow, stands out from the ordinary hammers you have used in the past.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Before Global Partners introduced the purple cow hammers to the North American market, “innovations” in the shredding industry centered around price reductions creating commodity products indistinguishable from one another.

Ever since we sold the first SWB alloy hammers over 12 years ago, our competition has tried their best to duplicate our product…from chemistry and hardness, to geometry. As the saying goes, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.”

Global Partners is proud to supply the original and only true differentially hardened alloy hammer which is the benchmark of the recycling industry. In September 2015, Stahlwerke Bochum GmbH produced its 1,000,000th hammer! We think that is an achievement to be celebrated and a wonderful testament to the consistent superior performance of this product over the past 30 years.
